EDWIN DARE: Out-Of-Print Sophomore Album To Be Reissued
March 29, 2005Toledo, Ohio progressive metal maestros EDWIN DARE, featuring guitarist Jeff Kollman (COSMOSQUAD, GLENN HUGHES, MOGG/WAY),bassist Kevin Chown (ARTENSION, TONY MACALPINE, MAGNITUDE 9),drummer Tom Kollman and singer Bryce Barnes, have set an April 4 date for the re-release of their long out-of-print 1994 sophomore album, "Can't Break Me", hailed by many as one of the best progressive metal albums of its time.
"This has always been my favorite of the EDWIN DARE releases" states Jeff Kollman. "It was at a time when we were out touring a lot. We were able to play the songs live a bit and see what worked before recording. I would say it's definitely the heaviest and most cohesive of the bunch."
Originally released on the band's own Marmaduke Records label and Teichiku in Japan, the re-tooled 2005 version of "Can't Break Me" was re-mastered by Brad Vance (TOTO, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, PLANET X) at Red Mastering in Los Angeles, CA and comes with the never-before-released bonus track "The Forbidden". The full track listing reads as follows:
01. Feel the Power
02. Don't Listen to Your Head
03. The Backburner
04. Never Had Time
05. Lies
06. This Warrior
07. Gone & Run Away
08. End of the Story
09. Test of Will
10. Can't Break Me
11. The Forbidden (bonus track)
Kollman and EDWIN DARE bandmate Kevin Chown recently re-teamed in a new project, JKB, whose debut disc, "Bleeding the Soul", is out now. In addition, the duo are also part of L.A.-based modern rock quartet CRUMB BROS., featuring drummer Shane Gaalaas (B'Z, COSMOSQUAD, DIESEL MACHINE) and vocalist Mark Renk.
